Spoke at the Navarre Beach Area Chamber Of Commerce Candidate Forum

William Cleave Drummond II Speaking At Candidate Forum Spoke at the Navarre Beach Area Chamber Of Commerce Candidate ForumI was honored to participate in the Candidate forum that the Navarre Beach Area Chamber Of Commerce held on July 24th. I was contacted by them to come and speak to those in attendance about my running for Congress and address some of the concerns that they had about our government and this state of Florida.

I started by first telling them why it was that I decided to run and how the members of Congress were more like children fighting over bone then grown men coming together to attend to the responsibilities of government. After my introduction I was then asked how I felt about gun control, immigration and about offshore drilling for oil. I have to admit that I don’t think I was very political about any of the answers as I am a person of strong feelings and I told them exactly how I felt and not what I thought they wanted to hear.

On gun control I stated “A well armed society is a polite society” but then added that it should not include military grade weaponry. With immigration I said that if a person doesn’t have the required legal documentation to be in the country that they should not be allowed to be paid at all. If they can’t get paid then they will move on. As to the drilling of oil, we drill tanker loads full that we ship out instead of using ourselves. If we used that ourselves then we would not be as dependent on foreign oil.

If you have any comments about this video I invite you to add your thoughts and opinions. If a candidate is not listen to what you have to say then they are not going to represent you and your problems. I promise to listen and then do what I can to make sure that I vote according to what the members of the district feel. Other times then I am going to follow my heart and do what I feel is best for all those that live in the district and not just one small part of it.
