Many say that to speak about Planned Parenthood is nothing more then political suicide. I say those that say that are cold and callous and have no feelings for the people that it really involves. Planned Parenthood is more then just abortion it is about how a women and couples can plan their lives so that they do not have events happen in their life that could destroy them. Think about it, if every time 2 people had sex and a baby was born of that coupling can you imagine how many babies would be born each and every day? There are over 350 million people in the united states and at least half of them or more are having sex every day. Can we afford to have our population grow at that rate? Can we afford the health problems that would come of it? I don’t think so and neither does Planned Parenthood.
This is my personal opinion but I think that a woman or couple should be the ones to decide what is right for them and not some cold callous over the hill aging politician. A persons right to choose should be taken into consideration as well as the mental and physical health of the mother to be. Just because a woman has the ability to give birth does not mean that she is a prisoner of the male sperm and regulated and delegated to having children each and every time a man gets horny. Blunt, I know but that is what is going on. Every time legislation is passed that says a woman is not master of her own body that is what is happening. She is being made a prisoner to the phallus and her womb. It has gotten to the point that some women wont even have sex with a man for fear of what might happen. That is in no way right. It is something that has to be changed.
Planned Parenthood is also about preventative measures. They would rather see a woman or teen stay healthy and educated instead of having to have risky procedures done after the fact. They want to educate and provide the resources and yes even condoms and information about contraceptives then see that woman ravaged by an unplanned pregnancy. Men hardly ever think what happens to a woman when they are pregnant. Women can sometimes even die from a pregnancy so should we force any that don’t want to be pregnant have to be pregnant?
Now some say that to even prevent a pregnancy is an act against god and murder. They use that same line to invalidate gay rights as well. If that is the case then every time a man ejaculates in some place other then a womb he is committing murder, if you go by the radical conservative views.
Really people, wake up and look at things logical. You take precautions to make sure people are safe. Do you build a bridge without making sure that it has a solid foundation? Do you send a kid to school without making sure they have the supplies they need? Do you drive a car without its tires? Its common sense to make sure that everything is right BEFORE getting pregnant and if a person wants to wait then that it their right. It is not the right of the government to say that a person can not get help to keep from getting pregnant. It is not a politicians right to say if a person is allowed to have sex or not. It is only the right of the people involved. And if the people involved do not want to have a child then that is their business ALONE, no one else.
I support a woman’s right to have control over her own body
I support couple’s rights to have birth control
I support the right of a rape victim to have the help that they need
I support the right of a female to be treated with dignity and privacy in their choices
I do not support the government mandating that a woman is just nothing more then a baby factory. The conservatives don’t say it that way but they surely treat it that way if you listen to what they have to say.
