With the way the news stations are going on and on about the Republican GOP Presidential race you would think that there is nothing else going on. I know they want to cover what is current and exciting, to them, but what about everything else going on. Everything is so one sided with them to be either far right or far left. It leaves you wondering what might actually be reality in the world. The way that they put it you would think that there are pockets of idyllic lifestyles that are controlling all of America. When are they going to show what is really going on politically in the real world.
In the real world you have people that have to pay bills but in Congress they just decide to raise how much they can barrow to pay for stuff and then at the same time find ways so they themselves don’t have to pay anything. If they want to have all the power then maybe they should pay for it instead of just making the poor and middle classes pay for it or barrow it from abroad. Some of the Senators and Representatives make more money then half the budgets of some states. What do we get in return for their leadership? We get nothing but broken promises and so much infighting that nothing ever gets done. Can we really let this continue? Can we really afford to?
There is one thing that I do know is that not all unemployed people are that way by choice and some businesses didn’t go out of business because of bad practices. The problem is that when people don’t buy products you will see a decline in sales. Some might say that they just have to change what they do but if there are no customers there are never going to be any sales. If that same business had employees they will get laid off to try and keep the business going. Doing this in turn makes less of a customer pool for everyone and on and on it goes. When that store or shop closes then they are no longer ordering goods and services from others and those businesses start to be affected. It is a cycle that has to stop. We need to change what is happening NOW!
If Elected to Congress as the Representative for the 1st Congressional District of Florida I know that I am going to strive to make sure that bills that promote job growth get voted in. I am not talking about the bait and switch of lower the rich tax in the hopes that they hire. I want to see it possible that the ordinary person is able to open a shop and sell products so that they can get a leg up in the economy and be able to help the community that they are in. If the communities see growth then you are going to see the economy of the entire nation grow.
Imagine if just 5 new businesses were opened in a county and what that could do. Those five small business shops would have at least 12 to 25 or more people working. That is at least 100,000 dollars or more of revenue going into the local economy. That might not seem like much but to the communities that are seeing everyone leave it would help tremendously. That extra money would actually change hands locally as much as 8 times in that year. All that cash going around means that more jobs would become available as a demand for services and goods would expand. Then take that one county and multiply that by the whole district and you see an even bigger impact for prosperity for all.
We don’t need huge changes to see this happen, just small steps in the right direction. We don’t need quick fixes just a willingness to see something all the way through and not just look for the big sale. I have personally seen business fail because the sales people were too concerned about the possibility of a big sale that they totally ignored the small sales that would have kept them in a job and the company afloat long enough to get those big sales. We need to sow the seeds of growth and not try to just pave it under like much of government has been treating us all.
The only way that you and I are going to see change is if we change it ourselves and all the career politicians know this. They know that if you stand up and say no to what they are doing that others will as well and they will loose the job that they have. They need to be accountable for all that they do when they say they are doing something in the interest of the public. If what they do has not in some way made things better for the community and the nation have they really been doing what they say at all?
It is time for a change! Visit the How You Can Help page and help me get on the ballot so that I can see the changes are done to help our communities and the district as a whole!
I am William Cleave Drummond II and I want to be your next Representative for the 1st Congressional District of Florida
