Today I was on Twitter taking your questions about me and my run for office as US House Representative to Congress. I will be doing so again on May 8th at 2pm Central to tweet with you all again.
While at Twitter I saw that the jobs in the United States rose just over 100,000. While that number might seem big keep in mind that there are over 14 million that are looking for work and even more don’t have enough work to make ends meet. The same is here in the Panhandle of Florida. Our district has over 10% unemployment and that just isn’t right. We need to have jobs and resources here so that we can thrive and prosper and not just get by and we are not even getting by. Many of the roads are crumbling, shops are closing up and buildings left to deteriorate. Is that the way we want the country and the rest of the state to see us? Do we want to keep sending the same people back to Washington election after election to just see the same thing happen or get worse?
I want to see our area prosper with jobs and new opportunities that will keep our young people here with hope and not despair. I want to see our area shine and be a jewel that attracts businesses, tourists and revenue to our area. I want to see our parks and forests talked about globally as the place to see and the place to be. I want us all to have the very best that we can have with jobs and opportunities for creativity and not just run down roads and parks falling apart. It is time that we make things change.
