About Your Right To Vote…

William “Cleave” Drummond II recently posted to facebook a call to voters to vote their minds and hearts and not just vote like everyone else. Here is an excerpt from that posting:

I have one question for all of you out there, has your representative or anyone in Congress done anything to make your life better? Have they done anything to make you proud of America and the U.S.?

Personally I feel that they have embarrassed us all as a nation and something needs to be done about it. Its time we get the career politicians out and put citizen legislators in. This is supposed to be a nation that is of the people, by the people and for the people. It is supposed to be a nation that cares about the welfare and safety of all it’s citizens and not just a select group of them.

We need a change in Washington and until the leadership in Congress is changed we are not going to see any change at all, especially not for the better.

One thing I want to point out, if you vote just because you think someone is going to win and you don’t believe in that person then you have wasted your vote and you will have no right to complain when they do something you don’t agree with. If you don’t vote your heart and conscience then you are doing nothing then promoting the same failed system of voting. If is your right and privalage…

This do-nothing Congress has held our country back for far too long. The right is trying to hold on to the ball long enough to make sure they can get rid of the current administration and then try to take our nation back to that idyllic time of McCarthyist 1950s. I guess they never heard the Bob Dylan when he said, “The times, they are a-changin’…” How many decades ago was that? The “I Like Ike” years are far behind us, and we can’t take the country back to it. We can only move forward, in science, in prosperity, and in ideology. Even theology can be progressive, but we just can’t let those whom are crusading take us back to the Dark Ages. We need to make the choice we believe in, and not the one the media spins around us. So, do some research, learn about those whom are in your district, and choose whom you deem worthy in your own view, and don’t be swayed by whom has the best advertising, or who can sling the most negative attacks. Too long this country had been run by media-run fear-mongering. These days are over, and it’s time we told those on the Hill that to connect to the people and understand their reality, you have to be one of them.

So, check out the all the websites your candidates have to offer, and learn all you can, because knowledge is power, and it’s time to bring power to the people, for now and forever!
