Florida Congressional District 1

Many of you have been asking what district that I am running for and what areas are actually in that district. I am petitioning to be included in the general election as a candidate for House of Representatives in Florida’s 1st Congressional District. Because the new lines for the Congressional Districts have not been finalized we are able to accept petitions that have been filled out anywhere in the state. Granted it would be better to have them just from the 1st District area but we can use all the help that we can get. As to the exact area that the district currently covers, it consists of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes and Washington counties.

To help you better visualize exactly what areas that covers here is a map that will help show you. The map is from Google Maps with data for the district area overlaid provided by Find your Members of Congress.

As stated, this year the district lines in Florida are being redrawn so we are able to accept petition signatures from anywhere in the state no matter where the registered voter lives, as long as they live in Florida.

The amount of signatures that are required for ballot access this year for Representative in Congress is 2,298. I invite you to go to the How You Can Help page to see how you can help change the face of Congress. Can we really afford to have them in there for 2 more years? It is time for a change.
